Our specialized therapeutic garden center in Waalwijk offers horticultural therapy programs for local community members. We are seeking an experienced caregiver to assist with garden maintenance, plant care, and supporting participants during therapy sessions. The role emphasizes empathy and gardening skills to create a peaceful environment conducive to healing and relaxation.
Typical daily duties include weeding, pruning, watering, preparing garden beds, and occasionally guiding participants in simple gardening activities. You will collaborate with therapists and other staff to maintain garden aesthetics and safety. Work is mostly outdoors with some indoor preparation tasks.
We provide ongoing support through training in horticultural therapy principles. The working environment is nurturing and focused on community impact. Hours are full-time with some flexibility according to therapy schedules.
Requirements
• Good interpersonal and communication skills in English
• Ability to perform physical garden maintenance tasks
• Patience and enthusiasm for working with vulnerable groups
• Basic knowledge of therapeutic gardening methods is a plus
